DHS Detains Eleven Illegal Iranian Nationals

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the detention of 11 Iranian nationals residing unlawfully in the United States, among them a man accused of serving as a sniper in Iran’s military forces.

“DHS has been full throttle on identifying and arresting known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through (former President Joe) Biden’s fraudulent parole programs or otherwise,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.

Officials disclosed that those detained include Ribvar Karimi, who was reportedly found with an Islamic Republic of Iran Army ID card at the time of his arrest and is accused of sniper activities.
Another individual, Mehran Makari Saheli, is alleged to be linked with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and reportedly confessed to connections with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Among the detainees, seven had prior criminal records, which DHS said included offenses such as drug-related crimes and forgery of official documents.

Additionally, DHS reported the arrest of Linet Vartanian, who allegedly threatened to shoot law enforcement officers attempting to apprehend Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand at her residence in Phoenix, Arizona. Authorities noted that Eidivand had a final order for removal.
