Flotilla gets attacked, activists arrested by Israeli Navy
As the Global Sumud Flotilla sailed toward Gaza to protest Israel's long-standing blockade, Israeli forces surrounded the vessels. Furthermore, activists stated that signal blockage and communication blackouts occurred aboard most of the boats.
ICBSG, the International Committee for Breaking the Siege on Gaza, verified that Israeli forces attacked 19 vessels, which included the Alma, Sirius, Adara, and Deir Yassin. Videos shared by several activists on social media showed Israeli naval boats nearing the convoy and commanding the vessels to alter their route.
The ICBSG stated on X platform that “we are being attacked right now by the Zionist (Israeli) army,” and also said that “Some ships have already been intercepted, and a state of emergency has been declared aboard all vessels.”
The ICBSG also stated that “high Alert. Our vessels are being illegally intercepted. Cameras are offline, and vessels have been boarded by military personnel.”
