Trump Jr states US fund conflicts abroad without seeing direct benefits
“That’s not going to work. That’s not going to happen, and you saw what happened,” Trump Jr. said. He emphasized that the Russia-Ukraine war is not a top concern for the American public.
Instead, Trump Jr. highlighted US operations in the Caribbean against drug trafficking as posing a “far greater clear and present danger to the United States than anything going on in Ukraine and Russia.” He added that while Washington seeks peace in Ukraine, Europe must “step up” and take greater responsibility.
Trump Jr. also defended his father’s record, noting that while President Trump was “labeled as the guy” who might start World War III, he instead focused on preventing conflicts in various parts of the world.
Praising Qatar’s role during Gaza peace talks, he said Doha aimed “actually getting to peace,” rather than improving its international image. While stressing that US priorities remain domestic, he confirmed that Washington will continue to compete with China over rare earth minerals.
Regarding US involvement in Gaza’s reconstruction, Trump Jr. affirmed participation but added, “But no one in America wants to bear the entire responsibility.”
