Turkish Aselsan Lands USD171M Asia-Pacific Defense Agreement

(MENAFN) Turkish defense powerhouse Aselsan announced on Monday that it has signed an international sales agreement valued at $171 million with a client in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to a statement posted on Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the contract covers the export of advanced communication systems and payloads for unmanned surface vehicles. The company did not disclose the identity of the client.

Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Ankara, Aselsan has expanded over the decades to become one of Turkey’s largest defense firms. The company is recognized globally, consistently ranking among the top 50 defense contractors worldwide.

The deal underscores Aselsan’s ongoing strategy to expand its international footprint and strengthen its presence in the growing Asia-Pacific defense market. Industry analysts note that exports of unmanned systems and communication technology remain a key growth area for defense firms, driven by rising regional security needs and increased investment in advanced military technologies.

With a diverse portfolio spanning radar systems, electronic warfare, and secure communication platforms, Aselsan continues to position itself as a competitive player on the global stage, leveraging decades of experience in defense innovation.
