Iranian Helicopter Crash Leaves Four Dead

(MENAFN) An Iranian army helicopter plunged into a busy fruit and vegetable market Tuesday morning in the central province of Isfahan, killing four people including both crew members, a semi-official news agency reported.

The aircraft slammed into a market stall at 9:09 a.m. local time (0539 GMT), claiming the lives of the pilot, co-pilot, and two vendors at the scene, according to the report.

Emergency responders mobilized immediately, with four ambulances rushed to the crash site, the news agency reported, citing Ali Nasiri, head of the provincial emergency medical services organization.

Mansour Shishehforoush, director general of Isfahan's crisis management department, told an official news agency that a technical failure caused the incident.
