Trump Claims Iran Is "Running Out of Launchers" Amid Ongoing Conflict
In a phone interview, Trump acknowledged that Iranian forces may continue launching attacks for a period but argued their ability to fight back is weakening rapidly. He said, "They're running out and they're running out of areas to shoot them, because they're being decimated. They're running out of launchers."
Trump added that the US has abundant weapon supplies and that American arms manufacturers have been mobilized to accelerate production. "We have unlimited of the middle- and upper middle- ammunition and things. We save it and we build it," he noted, adding that defense companies are "under emergency orders" to increase output.
He also indicated that the strikes could continue for weeks or conclude in a few days, and suggested that Washington remains open to negotiations with Iran’s next leadership once the attacks end. Trump stated that 49 senior Iranian leaders have already been killed in the strikes and emphasized, "It is not too late" for talks. "New ones are emerging. A lot of people want the job. Some of them would be very good," he added.
Tensions in the region escalated when the US and Israel launched a major attack on Iran Saturday, killing nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US assets.
